Promise of righteousness
2 Corinthians 5:21
For God made the only one who
did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we who did not know
righteousness might become the righteousness of God through our union with
him. (TPT)
In the middle of yesterday's
prayer time God gave Randy a type of vision.
Now these are rare but have happened before. He saw a man driving up to the cross of Jesus
in a very old, dilapidated, broken down,
rusted out pickup truck. In the
bed of the truck was what appeared to be used tin cans. There was a foul, rotting stench coming from
these cans. The driver stopped at the
left side of the cross and got out. He
was in tattered clothes and appeared to be in as broken down a state as the
truck he was driving. He walked to the
back side of the cross and then reappeared on the right side of the cross. He was totally cleaned up wearing fresh new
clothes and driving a gleaming new vehicle.
This vision brought Randy to the point of tears. There was a revelation of God's goodness. The broken man exiting the vehicle
represented us in need of our Savior.
The tin cans and the rotting stench represented our sins. Getting out of the truck and walking around
that cross was symbolic of leaving our sins at the foot of the cross. Driving away
in the new clothes and the gleaming vehicle represented being forgiven
and wrapped up in God's righteousness. Only God can take our sin and exchange
it for glory.
Father there are days we fill
unworthy. But you have promised to
cleanse us from all sin and unrighteousness.
You have wiped away our sin and our guilt and made us new. Your word tells us that as a righteousness
person our prayers are powerful and effective.
We seek the truth of your word and the direction of the Holy Spirit.
